Men's Group - Reconciliation & Mass

Consecration to St. Joseph - Reconciliation & Mass

On Wednesday, 1 May it is the Feast Day of St. Joseph the Worker. This is a Mass for all men and is being offered for all men in our parish and the wider world.

Reconciliation at 7pm followed by Mass at 7.30 pm

Please bring a small plate for supper to share after Mass.

This is a great chance for us as men of the parish to not only reset our hearts with God through the sacraments, but also pray for each other through the intersession of St Joseph.

There is no cost to the retreat day, but there will be a 'koha' (donation) box if you would like to make a donation towards the expenses of the day.

Combined Youth Group

Sunday 5th May (COMBINED YOUTH GROUP)

Youth Mass: 5-6pm

Dinner and combined Youth Group (Year 7-13): 6-8.30pm

Theme: Defending the Faith

New Leaders: We will be welcoming and introducing our two new hired Youth Leaders to the team - Eunseong and Madalyn!

Youth Group: Together we have planned a fun night for the youth. We will be running some epic games (maybe involving balloons and marshmallows…!) and will be focusing on the theme ‘Defending the Faith’.

As it says in 1 Peter 3:15 ‘Always be prepared to make a defense to any one who calls you to account for the hope that is in you, but do so with gentleness and reverence’. We will be covering this topic and running some activities around it, discussing why it is important to know and to love our faith, and to not be afraid to share it with others – especially when someone challenges us about it!

Youth Mass: Our youth are also taking part in some of the roles during the Mass at St Bede’s! Be sure to come along to support them!

Dinner: Will be provided!

Youth Groups

Junior Youth Group (Year 7 & 8): 4-5pm

Youth Mass: 5-6pm // Dinner: 6-6.30pm

Senior Youth Group (Year 9-13): 6.30-8pm

Theme: The Value and Dignity of Human Life

Junior Youth Group: Our focus will be on exploring the value and dignity of human life – from conception until natural death. Our hope is to inspire in the Year 7 & 8’s a real appreciation for the amazing complexity that goes on in a developing baby and how we as humans are made in the image and likeness of God and have infinite value.

Senior Youth Group: We have a couple of people from ‘Loving for Life’ coming along to hang out and speak to our Senior Youth Group about the Value and Dignity of Human Life! They will be running the session for us – I will send out more info about what we will be discussing closer to the time, but it will be a good one!

Youth Mass: Once again, our Youth are taking part in some of the roles during the 5pm Mass at St Bede’s – be sure to come along to support them! I am still on the look out for another reader, another person to do Offertory, and two Greeters for this Mass – let me know if your child could do any of these roles!

Dinner: Will be provided!
