  • Palm Sunday (13 April)

    Holy week begins with Palm Sunday (or Passion Sunday).

    These Masses are our normal Mass times found on our Mass Times Page

    Please Note the 4:30pm Vigil will be celebrated at 4pm this weekend to give enough time between Vigil Masses.

  • Chrism Mass (14 April)

    Join Bishop Michael and the Priests of the Christchurch Diocese as they renew their priestly promises and the Oils of Catechumens & the Infirmed are blessed, while the Oil of Chrism is consecrated.

  • Holy Thursday (17 April)

    On Holy Thursday we celebrate the Mass of the Last Supper.

    7pm - St Gregory’s Church
    (Adoration ends at 10pm; Night Prayer at 9:45pm)

    Please note that there are no Morning Masses on Holy Thursday.

  • Good Friday (18 April)

    The Passion of the Lord liturgy is celebrated on Good Friday.

    Reconciliation is available after each celebration of the Commemoration of the Lord’s Passion

  • Holy Saturday (19 April)

    9am - 10am - Reconciliation at St Gregory’s Church (there will be two priests available during this hour)

    8pm - Easter Vigil - St Gregory’s Church (RCIA Candidates received into the Church at this Mass)

    9pm - Easter Vigil - St Bede’s College Chapel

    Please note that there is no 9:15am Morning Mass on Holy Saturday

  • Easter Sunday (20 April)

    Our Easter Sunday Masses are usually the same times as our normal Mass Schedule, however there is no 5pm Mass at St Bede’s College.

  • Ash Wednesday (5 March)

    We invite our parish community to join Msgr Rick and Fr Alister, alongside the other pastors, for the Ecumenical Service on Ash Wednesday evening at 5:30 pm. We will join the St Paul’s Anglican Parish Community and the St Paul’s Lutheran Community. Ashes will be distributed at this service.

  • Stations of the Cross.

    Stations of the Cross is a beautiful devotion that is often prayed during the season of Lent. All are welcome to join us in praying this.

    Please note - the Stations of the Cross on Friday, 21st April will be reflections taken from ‘Laudato Si’.

  • Reconciliations / Confessions

    Lent is a perfect opportunity for us to prepare ourselves for the great feast and celebration of Easter.

    We offer extra confessions during this time to help us prepare as a community.

    There are two opportunities to celebrate reconciliation as a community - these will be Rite I

    7 - 8pm - Thursday 10 April
    and
    7 - 8pm - Tuesday 15 April
    both at St Gregory’s Church

    Saturday Morning Confessions & Wednesday Evening Confessions will continue as normal.

  • Anointing Masses

    This year, we are celebrating these Masses after the Easter Period, instead of during Lent.

    This Mass is an opportunity for anyone who is sick, elderly, those with mental health issues, and any one who needs healing to come and join us for the celebration of the Anointing of the Sick at Mass.

    9:15am - Wednesday 2 April
    St Gregory’s (followed by a light morning tea)

    Noon - Thursday 10 April
    St Gregory’s (followed by a light luncheon)

  • Pilgrims of Hope - Lenten Talk Series

    We will be offering a Lenten Talk series this Lenten season over five consecutive Thursdays (beginning on Thursday, 6 March), 7pm - 8pm at St Joseph’s Pastoral Centre.

    Caritas Lenten Reflections.

    Make Lent a special time with prayer, Lectio Divina, group sharing on the Lenten Sunday Gospels and a Faith in Action case study.
