A Call to Serve:
Strengthening our Sunday Masses
Each weekend, over 1,100 people come together to celebrate Sunday Mass in our parish. To make these celebrations possible, we rely on the dedication of volunteers who serve in various ministries—welcoming, reading, music, altar serving, collecting, and leading Liturgy of the Word for Children. These ministries don’t just help our liturgies run smoothly; they make our parish a welcoming and prayerful community where all feel included and encouraged in their faith.
During our Sunday Masses, many people help to make the celebration special. God created each of us with unique gifts that we can use to enrich our liturgies. Some people are wonderful singers, some have a gift for proclaiming Scripture, and others are skilled in arranging and preparing beautiful settings for prayer. Whatever your gift, there is a place for it within the community of the Mass. Below, we’ve highlighted some of the ministries at our Sunday Masses that we invite you to consider serving in.
Pope Francis reminds us: "A parish is not an outdated institution; precisely because it possesses great flexibility, it can assume different contours depending on the openness and missionary creativity of the pastor and the community." (Evangelii Gaudium, 28)
Our parish is only as strong as the people who serve within it. Perhaps you feel God nudging you to step forward, to offer your gifts in a new way. We invite you to prayerfully consider where you might be called to serve.
The downloadable handout provides a description of each ministry, what’s involved in serving, and how you can sign up. If you feel the Holy Spirit calling you, please take a moment to fill out the form included in this handout or complete it online. If you're interested but not yet ready to commit, we invite you to attend a formation session to learn more.
Your “yes” could make all the difference—not only for our liturgies but for the life and mission of our parish.
Thank you for your prayerful consideration and willingness to serve.
